I remember when Crystal Pepsi was introduced twenty years ago. It tasted practically the same as regular Pepsi but was cool because it was clear. Every other clear soft drink tasted like citrus.   1. It goes without saying that an ELN would prove most useful to any beverage company looking to make progress in the market. The ease of use and collaborative options that it provides sound – quite simply – amazing. In a market that stays so competitive, it could prove to be the difference.

  2. It would be interesting to see some data on how resistant or accepting beverage companies are to this line of thinking. I am mainly thinking in regards to the IP Security of the ELN. I could imagine that a lot of these companies would feel ‘it isn’t safe’, even if the data fully supports the claim that it is. I wonder if any studies have been done on this?

  3. I think the idea of a Electronic Laboratory Notebook solution is a great option for the beverage industry. It will definitely help them protect their proprietary information while getting feedback both in their lab as well as on the ground from a wider sample group of individuals. These will definitely help make sure that beverage reformulations are successful and don’t end up scrapped.

  4. It’s crazy to think they don’t already use this technology. If I was running a large business the first thing I’d want is a record accessible by hand of everything going down. It would certainly save them more money than it would hurt, that’s for sure.
